Cholecystitis Pathophysiology

I suddenly become interested in this topic because I personally experience a sharp steady pain in my gut, specifically in the right upper quadrant. It lasted for some 45 minutes, luckily I have a diagnostic book and start to pin point the problem, based on the book and to the signs and symptoms that I've presented, I am suffering from Acute cholecystitis, but I need to do some lab to confirmed the diagnosis. The thing is I want to know how do I get this problem, I found some article that really helps me a lot to understand the problem.
